The incidence of covid in the world increased by almost 20% in a week

The number of new cases of coronavirus infection per week in the world increased by 3.2 million. This is 0.7 million more than in the previous same period, according to TASS calculations. The incidence of covid rose for the first time in 10 weeks.

At the same time, in Europe, the rate of infection spread has been growing for almost a month.

In seven days, about 9.5 thousand people died due to covid in the world.

Growth in Europe

In some European countries, new serious outbreaks of the disease are recorded. So, in Germany, about 120 thousand infected people are already registered per day, which is the maximum since June. These are the highest rates not only in the European region, but also in the world at the moment. At the same time, less than 40,000 residents a day were diagnosed with covid in the country a month ago.

In France, the spread of coronavirus has increased by 15% compared to last week. Now they are registering about 60 thousand new cases of infection per day, which has not been the case since July.

In Italy, about 40 thousand people fall ill every day, while in Spain the situation is stable – the number of infected per day there has not exceeded 4 thousand since the end of July.

Decreased incidence

The decline in incidence is still recorded in the Asian region. In South Korea, less than 20,000 infected people have been re-identified in recent days. In Japan, despite a slight rise at the end of September, the incidence went down again. Now about 30 thousand cases of covid are registered there.

Approximately at the same level is the incidence in the United States, the last time such a low rate of infection was recorded there in March.

In Russia, the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in seven days was almost 40% less than in the previous similar period

Mortality

For the third week, the number of deaths in the world due to covid does not exceed 10 thousand people.

The United States is still in first place in terms of deaths, but the figures there have not increased since mid-September. Over the past seven days, about 1.8 thousand deaths have been registered in the country.

In second place is Russia, where, despite the decrease in morbidity, mortality is growing. From October 3 to October 9, 0.7 thousand people died there.

One of the highest death rates is still in Japan. Over the past seven days, 0.5 thousand deaths have been registered there.
